The Electric Fuel Air Electrodes are designed for oxygen reduction in both low and high power applications. The E-4 Air Cathode (as well as the E4A variation) is Manganese based and currently used in commercial applications in various alkaline primary batteries, and the E-5 Air Cathode is Cobalt based and currently used in prototype fuel cells requiring high power. Both can be used in metal-air batteries, AFCs, DBFCs, air depolarized batteries, or any application requiring gas diffusion electrodes.

Electric Fuel Air Cathodes are economically priced, starting as low as 3¢ per square cm for a single roll!

Engineering Services

Electric Fuel has been producing Air Electrodes for over 15 years for a large range of diverse applications from pocket chargers to electric vehicles. Our highly experienced team can deliver to you a high quality, low cost Air Electrode in large quantities for your application. We can supply an off-the-shelf product with or without a separator layer, or our team can work with you to custom design an Air Electrode suited to your application.

We also offer engineering services and are able to advise you regarding the use of our Air Electrodes in the following areas:

• cutting, bending and punching the Air Electrode
• sealing the edge of the Air Electrode
• attaching to the Air Electrode to draw current
• optimizing the color of the Teflon to fit your environmental requirements and high current requirements
• optimizing the other components in the Air Electrode for your application
