Electric Fuel: Senators Reid and Ensign to Attend Zero Emission Bus Demo

March 11, 2002 — Electric Fuel Corporation (NasdaqNM: EFCX), announced today that the two US senators from Nevada, Democrat Harry Reid and Republican John Ensign, have confirmed their intention to attend the Washington, DC, demonstration of Electric Fuel's zinc-air fuel cell transit bus on March 13.

As part of the event, the senators will also participate in a joint press conference at 10:30 am on March 13 at the Upper Senate Park, next to the Capitol building, Corner of Delaware and Constitution Avenues (Adjacent to the Russell Senate Office Building).

Electric Fuel is hosting the demonstration in the nation's capital to obtain support and gain access to budgetary funding for its proposed zinc-air electric bus mini-fleet project. The revolutionary zero-emission electric transit bus, which was first presented to the public last November in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been developed and tested with backing from the Federal Transit Administration and the BIRD Foundation, and has long been supported by Nevada's congressional and government leaders.

Electric Fuel's zinc-air electric bus is the nation's first practical zero-emission transit bus, designed to provide enough energy to power a full-sized city bus for a full day's driving on a single refueling. The bus was extensively track-tested met or exceeded all transit industry goals set out in the program.
